Venus Retrograde in Scorpio & Libra 2026

The Vibe Journal

Welcome back to the Vibe Journal, where we take what's happening in the sky and bring it back down to Earth.

Venus retrograde is coming, which means the internet is about to have plenty to say about exes returning, relationships falling apart, bad haircuts, questionable purchases, and every other decision we're apparently supposed to avoid until Venus behaves herself again.

But that's not really how I want to approach this.

Retrogrades aren't cosmic punishment, and they aren't a reason to put your entire life on hold.

I like to think about the word retrograde through the word re.

Revisit.
Review.
Reconsider.
Reevaluate.
Revise.
Reconnect.
Resurface.

Retrogrades bring us back over territory we've already traveled.

Sometimes that means something from the past resurfaces. Sometimes our perspective changes. Sometimes we finally notice something that was already there.

And Venus gives us a lot more to revisit than our romantic relationships.

Venus speaks to value.

What we value in other people. What we value in ourselves. What we spend our money on. What we consider beautiful. What brings us pleasure. What we desire. What we create. What we're attracted to. What we're willing to give, and perhaps just as importantly, what we're willing to receive.

So when Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, 2026, we're beginning a deeper review of our relationship with value itself.

And Scorpio isn't particularly interested in keeping that review on the surface.

When Your Values Change Before Your Life Does

One of the strangest parts of growth is realizing that something you once desperately wanted no longer feels the way you imagined it would.

Sometimes we outgrow things quietly.

A goal can stop feeling important before we're ready to admit we don't want it anymore. A style that once felt completely like us can suddenly feel like a costume. Something we once loved creating can begin to feel like an obligation. A relationship can continue long after the version of us who chose it has changed. The definition of success we've been working toward can stop feeling like success at all.

There is often discomfort in admitting this because we remember how much we once wanted these things.

We invested time in them.

Money.

Energy.

Love.

Hope.

Sometimes years of our lives.

And because something once mattered deeply, we can begin to believe that it is supposed to matter forever.

But changing what you value does not invalidate the version of you who valued it before.

You were allowed to want it then.

You are allowed to want something different now.

This is one of the deeper invitations of Venus retrograde: noticing the places where our internal values have shifted even though our external lives haven't caught up yet.

Sometimes nothing is necessarily wrong.

Something simply doesn't fit anymore.

Venus Is About More Than Love

Venus is often introduced as the planet of love and relationships, but that description barely scratches the surface.

Venus describes attraction.

And attraction is much bigger than romance.

We're attracted to certain people, of course, but we're also attracted to colors, music, clothing, art, environments, experiences, foods, textures, objects, lifestyles, and ways of expressing ourselves.

Over time, those attractions become part of what we call taste.

Taste may sound superficial, but it isn't. What we find beautiful, pleasurable, or desirable tells us something about how we experience the world.

And our tastes change because we change.

That's part of what makes a Venus retrograde interesting.

Something you used to find beautiful may no longer move you.

Something you dismissed years ago may suddenly call to you.

You might feel differently about your appearance, your home, your wardrobe, your creative work, your spending habits, your relationships, or the way you've been using your time.

There doesn't always have to be some dramatic revelation.

Sometimes the message is simply:

This doesn't feel good to me anymore.

That realization may seem small, but it can contain an enormous amount of information.

Because once we notice what no longer feels aligned, we have the opportunity to understand what has changed within us.

Scorpio Wants the Truth Beneath the Desire

Venus tells us what we want.

Scorpio wants to know what lives underneath the wanting.

Desire itself isn't something we need to overcome. Wanting love, money, comfort, beauty, sex, recognition, security, pleasure, or companionship does not make us shallow or spiritually unevolved.

Desire is part of being human.

But desire can reveal things.

There is a difference between wanting something because it genuinely enriches our lives and needing something because of what we believe possessing it will prove.

Money can represent freedom, but it can also become proof of success.

Beauty can be a form of expression, but it can also become proof that we're worthy of being noticed.

Being desired can feel wonderful, but it can also become evidence we use to reassure ourselves that we're valuable.

Being needed can feel like connection while quietly becoming the way we guarantee ourselves a place in someone's life.

Even achievement can stop being about the achievement itself and become an endless attempt to finally feel like we've done enough.

Scorpio takes Venus beneath the object of desire and into the emotional meaning we've attached to it.

This is where desire and attachment begin to separate.

Desire can say:

I deeply want this.

Attachment can quietly add:

And I don't know who I am, what I'm worth, or whether I'll be okay without it.

The goal isn't to eliminate attachment or shame ourselves for having it. We form attachments because we care. We bond. We hope. We build meaning around people and experiences.

The value of recognizing attachment is simply that awareness gives us more freedom.

We can begin to see when we're choosing something because we genuinely want it and when we're choosing it because we're afraid of what losing it might mean.

And that distinction can change everything.

The Vulnerability of Receiving

Venus isn't only about what we love.

Venus also speaks to our ability to receive.

Receiving sounds passive, but emotionally it can be incredibly vulnerable.

Giving allows us to act.

We can help. Provide. Fix. Create. Offer. Anticipate what someone needs.

Receiving requires something different.

It means allowing something to come toward us.

Care.

Attention.

Money.

Pleasure.

Support.

Compliments.

Opportunities.

Love.

And for people who have learned that their value comes from what they provide, receiving can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

Over giving can look like generosity from the outside while serving another purpose underneath. Being useful creates a role. Being needed creates a sense of security. Giving can even protect us from having to experience the vulnerability of needing something ourselves.

This doesn't make generosity dishonest.

It simply means that sometimes our most admirable qualities can also contain ways we've learned to protect ourselves.

Venus retrograde can make those patterns easier to notice.

Not so we can criticize ourselves for them, but so we can expand our understanding of what exchange actually means.

Healthy exchange isn't only about becoming better at giving.

Sometimes growth looks like becoming better at receiving without immediately feeling the need to earn it back.

Money Is Emotional, Too

Money may seem like an entirely separate subject from love, beauty, and pleasure, but astrologically it belongs very naturally within the territory of Venus.

Money is one of the ways value becomes tangible.

We exchange it for things we need, things we enjoy, things we believe will improve our lives, and things that make us feel safe.

Which means our relationship with money is rarely just mathematical.

Money can represent security. Freedom. Status. Independence. Control. Pleasure. Fear. Possibility. Even identity.

The way we earn, spend, save, charge, and share money can tell us something about what we value and what we fear losing.

Scorpio takes this conversation further because it brings us into the territory of shared resources: debt, financial obligations, dependency, investments, shared accounts, business partnerships, and the complicated dynamics that can emerge when our resources become intertwined with someone else's.

Money can create freedom, but it can also create power.

It can create generosity, but it can also create obligation.

It can allow people to build something together while revealing where trust, control, and vulnerability exist within an exchange.

Sometimes what looks like a money pattern is also a worth pattern.

That doesn't mean we need to overanalyze every financial decision we make.

But it can be useful to notice the difference between the number itself and the meaning we've attached to it.

Beauty Without an Audience

Venus also governs beauty, aesthetics, and the ways we adorn ourselves and our environments.

This is where Venus retrograde sometimes gets reduced to advice like, "Don't change your hair."

But beauty is much more interesting than that.

Our sense of beauty develops partly through personal preference and partly through what we've been taught to recognize as beautiful.

Culture influences it.

Trends influence it.

Algorithms influence it.

Partners and friends influence it.

The people whose attention we want can influence it too.

Eventually, it can become difficult to tell where our own taste ends and the audience begins.

We may continue dressing a certain way because people compliment it, maintain an aesthetic because we've become known for it, or buy things because they represent the person we want others to believe we are.

None of this means external influence is inherently bad. We influence one another constantly. Inspiration is part of creativity and culture.

But there is a useful question hiding underneath all of it:

When you remove the audience, what do you find beautiful?

Something can be beautiful because you enjoy looking at it.

Something can feel good because you enjoy wearing it.

Something can belong in your life without needing anyone else's approval to justify its presence.

Pleasure Does Not Have to Be Productive

There is another side of Venus that often gets overlooked entirely: pleasure.

Not only sexual pleasure.

Pleasure can be music playing while you're cleaning the house. The first sip of coffee in the morning. Lying in the sun. Wearing perfume when you're staying home. Cooking because you enjoy cooking. Dancing badly in your kitchen. Making jewelry simply because you wanted to see what you could create.

Pleasure is experience for the sake of experience.

And that can be surprisingly difficult in a world that constantly asks what something produces.

We monetize hobbies. Optimize our mornings. Turn creativity into content. Turn rest into recovery so we can become productive again.

Even self-care can quietly become another thing we're supposed to perform correctly.

Venus reminds us that not everything valuable has to produce something measurable.

Some things are valuable because they make being alive feel better.

That doesn't mean ignoring responsibility or pursuing pleasure without consequence. It means allowing pleasure to have a legitimate place beside responsibility.

Sometimes returning to ourselves doesn't look like discovering something new.

Sometimes it looks like remembering what we loved before we learned to ask whether it was useful.

When Creativity Becomes Performance

Creativity and pleasure naturally overlap, but creativity introduces another layer: expression.

Making something gives an internal idea, feeling, instinct, or vision somewhere to go.

But that relationship can change once an audience or income enters the picture.

Something that began as self-expression can slowly become something we measure through sales, likes, comments, praise, productivity, or whether other people understand it.

This is especially complicated when creativity becomes part of our work.

There is nothing wrong with wanting our creations to succeed. Creating something that supports us financially can be incredibly meaningful.

But there is a subtle difference between allowing creativity to support us and allowing its performance to determine its value.

Our taste can evolve faster than the work we're known for.

We may become curious about an old style again. A successful creative direction may stop exciting us. Something completely different may start pulling at our attention before we understand what we're supposed to do with it.

That doesn't mean we need to abandon what we've built.

Creative restlessness can simply be information.

Not every experiment has to become a new direction.

Not every idea has to become a product.

Sometimes creating something is valuable because it allows us to discover a part of ourselves we hadn't heard from in a while.

When Venus Turns Toward Relationships

Of course, we can't talk about Venus without eventually talking about relationships.

But relationships are one part of the larger conversation we've been having about value.

We bring our values into the connections we form. We also bring our expectations, desires, fears, boundaries, and ideas about what love and partnership are supposed to look like.

And when Venus retrogrades through Scorpio, some of the deeper layers of those connections can become easier to see.

Scorpio is associated with intimacy, trust, vulnerability, attachment, and the places where our lives become deeply intertwined with someone else's.

This is why the relationship side of this retrograde can go deeper than simply reconsidering whether we love someone.

Love can exist alongside incompatibility.

Desire can exist without trust.

Chemistry can exist without safety.

Loyalty can exist alongside resentment.

Two people can care deeply about one another and still create patterns that neither of them consciously intended.

And perhaps one of the most important distinctions Scorpio can help us understand is the difference between intensity and intimacy.

Intensity can feel like depth because it creates powerful emotional experiences.

The highs are high. The lows are low. There may be enormous attraction, longing, conflict, reconciliation, uncertainty, or an almost magnetic pull toward another person.

Those feelings are real.

But intensity itself doesn't necessarily tell us how deeply two people know one another.

Intimacy is built differently.

It develops through honesty, trust, vulnerability, consistency, and the ability to allow ourselves to be known without constantly controlling how we will be received.

Intensity can happen almost instantly.

Intimacy usually has to be built.

And sometimes recognizing the difference changes the way we understand connections that once felt impossible to explain.

The Power We Hold and the Power We Give Away

Scorpio also brings power into the conversation.

Power in relationships isn't always obvious. It isn't limited to manipulation, control, or one person intentionally trying to have the upper hand.

Sometimes power develops quietly through what each person is afraid to lose.

The person who is more financially dependent may feel they have fewer choices.

Someone who fears abandonment may tolerate more than they otherwise would.

Someone who needs to feel needed may continuously take on the role of caretaker.

Someone uncomfortable with vulnerability may use distance as a way to feel safer.

None of these patterns automatically make someone bad or mean a relationship is unhealthy.

They show us how fear, security, dependency, and vulnerability can affect the balance between two people, sometimes without either person consciously realizing it.

Power is worth noticing because it can influence what we believe we're free to ask for, refuse, change, or walk away from.

Love Is Not Ownership

Attachment isn't the enemy of love.

We become attached to people because they matter to us. Their presence becomes woven into our routines, memories, future plans, and sense of home.

But there can be a point where preserving a connection becomes more important than the wellbeing of the people inside it.

Fear of losing someone can make us hold tighter.

We may mistake jealousy for evidence of depth.

We may believe that because something has lasted a long time, it must continue.

Or we may remain loyal to a connection while becoming less honest about what we're actually experiencing inside of it.

None of this means we're supposed to detach from everyone we love.

It simply reminds us that loving something deeply and trying to control its outcome are not the same thing.

Attachment can exist alongside love.

But love does not give us ownership.

What Reciprocity Actually Means

On October 25, Venus retrogrades out of Scorpio and back into Libra, changing the tone of the review.

Scorpio takes us beneath the surface. Libra brings our attention toward balance, fairness, compromise, and the ways we exist in relationship with other people.

And that isn't limited to romance.

Reciprocity matters in friendships, family relationships, business partnerships, creative collaborations, and anywhere else people are exchanging time, energy, care, resources, or responsibility.

Healthy reciprocity doesn't mean everything is divided perfectly down the middle.

There will be seasons when one person gives more because the other simply cannot. There will be relationships where responsibilities are divided according to strengths rather than equally. Circumstances change, and perfect equality isn't always realistic.

Reciprocity is less about keeping score and more about whether there is mutual care.

Whether both people are allowed to have needs.

Whether both people can take up space.

Whether giving and receiving can move in both directions over time.

This is also where compromise deserves a closer look.

Compromise is necessary in relationships.

Self-abandonment is not.

There is a difference between adjusting because we care about another person's needs and repeatedly ignoring our own so that a relationship can remain comfortable.

Libra's desire for harmony can sometimes tempt us to treat the absence of conflict as evidence that everything is fine.

But peace and harmony aren't always the same thing.

Sometimes peace exists because something has genuinely been resolved.

Sometimes peace exists because nobody is saying the thing that might disrupt it.

Venus returning to Libra gives us an opportunity to reconsider what balance actually means when everyone involved is allowed to remain fully present.

The Venus Retrograde Timeline

Venus officially stations retrograde on October 3, but technically, this story has already begun.

On August 31, Venus entered what astrologers call its pre-retrograde shadow. This simply means Venus began moving through the same part of the zodiac that it will revisit during the retrograde.

So even though Venus hasn't turned retrograde yet, we're already inside the larger cycle.

Think back over the past few weeks. Certain themes involving what you value, desire, create, spend, or connect yourself to may have already started shifting, even subtly.

That doesn't mean everything that happened since August 31 is secretly connected to Venus retrograde. The shadow period is better understood as the opening chapter of a longer process.

Something that seemed insignificant at the beginning of September may make more sense once Venus begins retracing its steps.

October 3: Venus Stations Retrograde in Scorpio

This is where the review officially begins.

Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio, turning our attention inward around the Venus themes we've been exploring throughout this Journal.

Scorpio encourages us to look beneath appearances and become more aware of not only what we want, but the meaning we've attached to having it.

And we don't have to immediately do something with everything we discover.

Review comes before response.

Sometimes clarity needs time.

October 20: Venus Squares Pluto

This can be one of the more intense points of the Scorpio portion of the retrograde.

Pluto brings themes of power, control, transformation, and what has been buried beneath the surface. When Venus meets Pluto through a challenging square, some of the things we've been exploring around attachment, worth, money, desire, and power can become harder to ignore.

That doesn't mean everyone should expect a dramatic event.

Sometimes intensity shows up internally.

We recognize why something has such a hold on us.

We see where fear has been influencing a choice.

Or we finally understand why something we thought we wanted no longer feels the same.

Awareness itself can be transformative.

October 23: A Turning Point

Retrograde Venus meets the Sun in Scorpio on October 23.

Astrologically, this marks the midpoint of the Venus retrograde cycle and the beginning of a new Venus cycle.

Think of this as a point of illumination within the review.

We may not have every answer yet, but something can begin to make more sense.

A desire becomes clearer.

A pattern becomes easier to recognize.

A changing value finally has language.

Sometimes clarity isn't knowing exactly what to do next.

Sometimes clarity is finally understanding what has been changing inside of you.

October 24: Mercury Joins the Retrograde Party

Because apparently one retrograde wasn't enough.

On October 24, Mercury also stations retrograde in Scorpio, beginning a cycle that will overlap with the remainder of Venus retrograde.

We're not going to unpack Mercury retrograde here because it deserves its own Vibe Journal, and we'll be diving into that separately.

For now, just know that there will be a period where both Venus and Mercury are retrograde at the same time, adding another layer of review to an already reflective stretch of the year.

Venus is asking us to reconsider what we value, while Mercury brings its own review around the way we think, communicate, interpret, and process what we're experiencing.

We'll save the rest for the Mercury Retrograde Vibe Journal.

October 25: Venus Returns to Libra

Now the conversation shifts.

Scorpio has taken us underneath the surface. Libra brings what we've discovered back into our relationships, exchanges, choices, and interactions with other people.

We aren't starting an entirely new story.

We're looking at the same story from another angle.

Scorpio asks us to uncover what is true.

Libra asks us how that truth can coexist with other people.

November 13: Venus Stations Direct

Venus stations direct in Libra on November 13, ending the official retrograde.

But direct motion doesn't mean every question suddenly has an answer.

Retrogrades can give us information before we're ready to know what to do with it.

As Venus begins moving forward again, this becomes a period of integration. We can begin applying what we've learned rather than feeling pressured to emerge from the retrograde as a completely different person.

The goal isn't to have everything figured out.

It's to move forward knowing ourselves a little better than we did when the cycle began.

December 15: Venus Leaves the Shadow

By December 15, Venus has traveled back across all of the territory covered during the retrograde.

This closes the larger cycle.

What began quietly at the end of August has now had several months to unfold, be reconsidered, and move forward again.

And sometimes that is how real change happens.

Not through one enormous revelation, but through a series of smaller realizations that eventually change what we choose.

Venus Retrograde for Your Rising Sign

Your Rising Sign helps us understand which areas of life Venus will be moving through during this retrograde.

If you know your Rising Sign, read that section first. You can also read your Sun sign for another layer, but your Rising Sign will give you the clearest picture of where these themes may show up.

And remember, this isn't a prediction that something specific is going to happen.

Think of it more like a map.

The houses Venus moves through show us where the larger conversation may become more noticeable, while the rest of your chart helps shape how you personally experience it.

♈ Aries Rising

For Aries Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 8th house, bringing attention to the things you share with other people.

This can include shared finances, debt, loans, investments, financial agreements, and resources that connect your wellbeing to someone else's.

But the 8th house also deals with emotional intimacy, trust, vulnerability, and what happens when our lives become deeply intertwined with another person's.

This can make the Scorpio portion of the retrograde especially relevant to the balance between what is yours, what is shared, and what sharing requires from you.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves back into your 7th house of relationships and partnerships.

Now the focus shifts from what is shared within a connection to the connection itself.

Romantic relationships can be part of this, but the 7th house also includes business partnerships and other significant one-on-one relationships.

What you've been noticing around trust, vulnerability, resources, or dependency may give you a different perspective on what you actually need from partnership.

♉ Taurus Rising

For Taurus Risings, Venus retrograde begins in your 7th house of relationships, partnerships, and one-on-one connections.

And because Venus is your ruling planet, its retrogrades may feel especially personal.

Romantic partnerships may be part of this review, but so can friendships, business partnerships, clients, or other significant one-on-one relationships.

You may become more aware of what reciprocity, attraction, commitment, and compatibility mean to you now compared with what they meant in the past.

When Venus moves backward into Libra, it enters your 6th house of daily life, work, routines, and wellbeing.

The focus becomes more practical.

Relationships don't exist only in conversations about love. They also exist in who does the dishes, who follows through, how responsibilities are shared, what your days actually feel like, and whether your routines leave room for pleasure.

The 6th house can also bring your attention toward your relationship with work itself.

A job can be stable without being satisfying. A routine can be efficient without actually supporting the life you want to live.

Sometimes what we value becomes clearest when we look at how we spend an ordinary Tuesday.

♊ Gemini Rising

For Gemini Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 6th house, putting everyday life under review.

This includes work, routines, responsibilities, habits, and the systems that keep your life functioning.

Venus here can draw attention to whether your daily life contains anything you actually enjoy.

A routine can be productive and still leave you depleted. A job can make sense on paper while no longer feeling satisfying. Even habits that once supported you may need to evolve as your priorities change.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 5th house of creativity, pleasure, romance, and self-expression.

This part of the retrograde brings us back to something we talked about earlier in the Journal: pleasure doesn't always need to accomplish something.

Creative interests may resurface. Your relationship with dating or romance may shift. Something you used to love doing may suddenly feel interesting again.

The larger lesson isn't that responsibility and pleasure are opposites.

It's remembering that a life can function perfectly well and still need more joy inside of it.

♋ Cancer Rising

For Cancer Risings, Venus retrograde begins in your 5th house of pleasure, creativity, romance, and self-expression.

This is one of the clearest places where the broader meaning of Venus becomes important.

You may find yourself reconsidering what genuinely excites you.

Creative interests can change. Your relationship with dating or romance may evolve. Even the things you do purely for enjoyment can begin to feel different.

The 5th house also has a playful quality to it. It reminds us that enjoyment doesn't always need to become productive, profitable, or useful.

When Venus returns to Libra, it enters your 4th house of home, family, roots, and emotional foundations.

Attention may turn toward what makes somewhere feel like home, the atmosphere you're creating within your space, and the values you've inherited from the people or environments that shaped you.

Sometimes we discover that something we've always considered important was actually important to the people who came before us.

And that doesn't automatically mean we need to reject it.

It simply gives us the opportunity to decide whether it still belongs to us.

This retrograde can help separate what you inherited from what you genuinely want to carry forward.

♌ Leo Rising

For Leo Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 4th house of home, family, roots, and emotional foundations.

The 4th house is one of the most private areas of the chart. It speaks to where we come from, what makes us feel secure, the environments that shaped us, and what "home" means beyond a physical address.

During the Scorpio portion of this retrograde, you may become more aware of what comfort and belonging mean to you now.

Your physical environment may no longer reflect who you've become. Family dynamics may look different through adult eyes. Ideas about money, relationships, security, or success that were normal in the environment you grew up in may not completely match the values you've developed for yourself.

This isn't necessarily about rejecting where you came from.

Sometimes growing into ourselves means deciding consciously what we want to keep.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 3rd house of communication, learning, ideas, and your immediate environment.

Now some of those internal realizations begin looking for language.

The 3rd house describes how we communicate, exchange information, learn, and interact with the world immediately around us.

You may become more conscious of how you communicate what you need, how easily you express appreciation or disagreement, and whether the way you speak about yourself still reflects the person you've become.

Sometimes knowing what we feel comes first.

Learning how to say it comes next.

♍ Virgo Rising

For Virgo Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 3rd house of communication, learning, ideas, and everyday exchanges.

Words have value too.

The 3rd house isn't only about whether we communicate clearly. It also describes the ideas we repeatedly expose ourselves to, what captures our curiosity, and how we make sense of our everyday experiences.

During this part of the retrograde, you may become more aware of how you communicate affection, appreciation, needs, and boundaries, as well as how comfortable you are receiving those things from other people.

Old interests or subjects you once loved may also become interesting again.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 2nd house of money, possessions, resources, personal values, and self-worth.

This brings the larger Venus conversation about value into very tangible territory.

Spending, saving, pricing your work, income, possessions, and what you choose to invest in may all deserve another look.

But the 2nd house isn't only about how much you have.

It also speaks to what you consider valuable and the sense of security you build for yourself.

That makes this a useful time to notice whether you've been allowing external measurements of value to become measurements of your value.

Your finances are part of your life.

They are not a measurement of your worth as a person.

♎ Libra Rising

For Libra Risings, this Venus retrograde may feel particularly personal because Venus is your ruling planet.

Venus begins its retrograde in your 2nd house of money, possessions, resources, values, and self-worth.

This brings many of the themes at the heart of this retrograde directly into focus.

Your relationship with money may deserve another look, including what you're spending on, what you're saving for, what financial security means to you, and whether the things you're working toward still hold the same value they once did.

But the 2nd house isn't only about what you have.

It's also about what you believe is valuable.

And sometimes we don't realize how closely we've connected our sense of worth to something external until that external thing begins changing.

Income can become evidence that we're successful.

Being needed can become evidence that we're important.

Being desired can become evidence that we're attractive.

Achievement can become evidence that we're enough.

Venus retrograde through this part of your chart can begin separating what has value from what you have been using to prove your value.

Then on October 25, Venus retrogrades back into Libra and enters your 1st house of identity, appearance, and the way you move through the world.

The 1st house is deeply personal. It describes how we meet life, how we express ourselves, and the identity through which other people first encounter us.

You may find yourself reconsidering how you present yourself, what feels beautiful to you, how you want to be seen, or even which parts of your identity still feel authentic.

This doesn't necessarily mean reinventing yourself.

Sometimes it's the opposite.

It can be a return to something that felt like you before other people's expectations, relationships, trends, or previous versions of yourself began shaping the way you thought you were supposed to look or live.

And because Venus rules Libra, there is something especially significant about Venus returning to your 1st house during this retrograde.

After reconsidering what you value, you're being brought back to your relationship with yourself.

Not the version of you that performs well.

Not the version that keeps everyone comfortable.

Not the version that receives the most approval.

Just you.

And perhaps the most important thing this retrograde can remind Libra Risings is that your worth does not increase when someone recognizes it, and it does not decrease when someone fails to.

♏ Scorpio Rising

For Scorpio Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 1st house of identity, appearance, self-expression, and the way you move through the world.

That puts you directly inside the review.

The 1st house isn't only about appearance. It represents your sense of self and the version of you that meets the outside world.

You may notice changes in how you want to express yourself, how you relate to your appearance, or what feels authentic to the person you're becoming.

Sometimes we become so accustomed to a particular version of ourselves that we don't notice when we've started outgrowing it.

Roles, labels, styles, and even personality traits can become things we continue carrying simply because they're familiar.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 12th house, shifting the review somewhere much more private.

The 12th house deals with what happens beneath conscious awareness: endings, solitude, unconscious patterns, things we haven't fully processed, and parts of ourselves that aren't always easy to understand immediately.

After a very visible 1st house review of who am I now?, the 12th house can create space for something quieter.

What are you ready to stop carrying?

What needs to be processed rather than immediately acted upon?

What belongs to the person you're becoming, and what may simply be familiar because you've carried it for so long?

Not every realization needs to become a decision immediately.

Sometimes understanding who you're becoming also requires making peace with who you've been.

♐ Sagittarius Rising

For Sagittarius Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 12th house, making the beginning of this cycle quieter and more internal.

Old feelings, desires, memories, or relationship patterns may resurface, but the purpose isn't necessarily to bring them back into your life.

Sometimes something returns to our awareness because we're finally able to understand it differently.

The 12th house can also illuminate the ways we unconsciously deny ourselves pleasure, connection, or receiving. Patterns we couldn't previously name may become easier to recognize once we stop trying to immediately solve them.

When Venus returns to Libra, it enters your 11th house of friendships, community, networks, and future hopes.

The focus begins moving outward again.

You may reconsider which communities feel aligned with who you're becoming, how balanced your friendships feel, or whether the future you've been imagining still genuinely excites you.

Not every dream needs to follow you into your next chapter simply because you once wanted it.

♑ Capricorn Rising

For Capricorn Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 11th house of friendships, community, and future goals.

This can bring a review of belonging.

The people around us influence what feels possible, desirable, and normal. Over time, communities can shape our goals without us realizing how much of that vision came from the environment around us.

Friendships may evolve during this period, but so can your understanding of where you belong and what kind of future you're actually interested in building.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 10th house of career, reputation, and public life.

This brings your values into conversation with ambition.

Success can be meaningful while still changing shape over time. A goal that once motivated you may no longer feel worth the sacrifices required to reach it. Or you may rediscover an ambition you set aside because it didn't fit the path you thought you were supposed to follow.

This isn't necessarily about abandoning what you've built.

It may simply be about making sure the life you're building still feels valuable to the person who has to live it.

♒ Aquarius Rising

For Aquarius Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 10th house of career, reputation, and public identity.

You may find yourself reconsidering what success means to you and how much of your professional identity reflects what you genuinely value.

Recognition can feel good. Achievement can feel good. Being respected for what you do can feel good.

But public approval and personal fulfillment are not always the same thing.

When Venus returns to Libra, it enters your 9th house of beliefs, education, travel, perspective, and the larger meaning you make from your experiences.

Now the review expands.

Something you've learned through your work, ambitions, or public life may challenge an older belief about what your life was supposed to look like.

The 9th house reminds us that changing our minds isn't always inconsistency.

Sometimes we've simply learned something we didn't know before.

♓ Pisces Rising

For Pisces Risings, Venus begins its retrograde in your 9th house of beliefs, perspective, education, travel, and meaning.

The values we live by are often connected to the beliefs we've accumulated throughout our lives.

Some came from family.

Some came from culture.

Some came from teachers, relationships, spiritual traditions, or experiences that changed us.

And some beliefs simply belonged to an earlier version of ourselves.

Venus retrograde here can encourage a reconsideration of what still feels true and meaningful to you, particularly around love, beauty, money, relationships, and the kind of life you consider fulfilling.

When Venus returns to Libra, it moves into your 8th house of intimacy, trust, shared resources, and vulnerability.

Ideas now meet reality.

It is one thing to believe in openness, reciprocity, or trust. It is another thing to practice those values when something meaningful is actually at stake.

Shared money, emotional intimacy, financial obligations, or deeper relationship dynamics may reveal where your stated values and lived experiences are aligned and where they may still be evolving.

This part of the retrograde isn't asking for perfection.

It's asking for honesty about what happens when the things you believe become the things you actually have to live.
Crystals for Venus Retrograde

Crystals don't need to "fix" a retrograde, and you definitely don't need a spiritual emergency kit every time a planet appears to move backward.

I like to think of crystals during transits as physical reminders of the energy or intention we want to work with.

For this Venus retrograde, I've chosen five stones with very different properties. You don't need all five. Pay attention to which one feels most relevant to what you're personally moving through.

Rhodonite: Self-Worth + Emotional Healing

Rhodonite is traditionally associated with compassion, emotional healing, forgiveness, and self-love.

It's often connected with healing emotional wounds while encouraging us to approach ourselves with the same patience and compassion we may naturally offer other people.

Rhodonite can also be supportive when working with boundaries and patterns of over giving, particularly when our sense of worth has become connected to being useful, needed, or accepted.

That makes it a beautiful stone for the parts of this Venus retrograde that bring our relationship with self-worth into focus.

You don't have to continuously prove your value through what you provide, accomplish, or tolerate.

Labradorite: Transformation + Becoming

Labradorite is traditionally associated with transformation, intuition, protection, and navigating periods of change.

It's a stone I especially love for those strange in-between periods when you know something is changing but don't completely understand what you're becoming yet.

Labradorite doesn't need to symbolize having all the answers.

For this retrograde, it can represent trusting yourself while your tastes, desires, priorities, or identity are still evolving.

Sometimes transformation begins with recognizing that you're no longer standing where you used to be.

Green Calcite: Emotional Softness + Renewal

Green Calcite is traditionally associated with emotional balance, compassion, renewal, and heart-centered healing.

Its energy is often described as gentle and soothing, making it a beautiful stone for creating space around emotions rather than immediately trying to solve or analyze them.

Green Calcite can also symbolize releasing emotional patterns that have become stagnant while remaining open to new experiences, connection, and enjoyment.

That's what gives it a different role here from Rhodonite.

Rhodonite speaks more directly to emotional wounds, self-worth, and compassion.

Green Calcite brings us toward softness, openness, and what feels nourishing.

Not every realization has to come through something painful.

Sometimes growth also means noticing what feels peaceful, supportive, enjoyable, and genuinely good, then allowing yourself to make more room for it.

Carnelian: Creativity + Desire

Carnelian is traditionally associated with creativity, motivation, confidence, vitality, passion, and personal expression.

It has a much more active energy than the stones above.

Carnelian can be especially useful as a symbolic reminder to reconnect with the things that make you feel alive.

Create because you're curious.

Wear something because you love it.

Try something because it excites you.

Make something before deciding whether it's good enough to sell, post, or show anyone.

During a Venus retrograde that asks us to reconsider desire and pleasure, Carnelian reminds us that wanting something doesn't always require a complicated explanation.

Sometimes you simply like it.

That's allowed too.

Black Obsidian: Truth + What Lies Beneath

Black Obsidian is traditionally associated with protection, grounding, truth, and bringing hidden or uncomfortable material into awareness.

That makes it especially fitting for the Scorpio portion of this retrograde.

Obsidian has a reputation for being a more direct stone. Symbolically, it encourages us to look honestly at what may be operating underneath the surface rather than avoiding it because it's uncomfortable.

Fear.

Jealousy.

Insecurity.

Control.

Resentment.

Attachment.

These aren't automatically evidence that something is wrong with us.

They're information.

Black Obsidian can serve as a reminder that we can acknowledge the less comfortable parts of ourselves without allowing them to define us.

Awareness gives us choices that avoidance cannot.

A Venus Retrograde Practice: The Value Inventory

Instead of creating an elaborate ritual for this retrograde, I want to offer something simple that you can return to throughout the cycle.

Take a piece of paper and divide it into three sections.

What I Value

Write down what genuinely matters to you right now.

People can be here, but don't stop there.

Consider your time, creativity, financial security, freedom, home, pleasure, health, friendships, work, solitude, experiences, spirituality, self-expression, or anything else that holds real value in your life.

Don't worry about what you think should matter.

Write down what actually does.

Where My Resources Go

Now look at where your resources are actually going.

Not only money.

Your time.

Your attention.

Your emotional energy.

Your creativity.

Your care.

Your labor.

You don't need to judge what you find.

You're simply looking at whether the things receiving the most from you are the same things you say matter most to you.

Sometimes they will be.

Sometimes there may be a gap.

And that gap can tell you something.

What May Be Changing

Finally, make room for the things you aren't completely sure about anymore.

A goal you once wanted.

A relationship dynamic.

A financial priority.

An aesthetic.

A creative direction.

A version of success.

Something you thought would make you happy.

You don't have to decide what happens next.

Let uncertainty be information too.

The purpose of this practice isn't to reorganize your entire life before Venus stations direct.

It's simply to notice whether the life you're currently investing in reflects the things that actually hold value for you now.

Journal Prompts

We've already done a lot of reflecting throughout this Vibe Journal, so I'm intentionally keeping these prompts limited.

You don't need to answer all of them. Choose the one that catches your attention or feels most relevant to what you're experiencing right now.

1. What has changed about what I value over the past year, and has my life changed with it?

2. Where am I investing time, money, or energy because something genuinely matters to me, and where am I investing because I feel obligated to continue?

3. What brings me pleasure when there is nothing to accomplish, prove, post, or produce?

4. What am I learning about my ability to receive support, love, money, recognition, or care without immediately feeling like I owe something in return?

5. Is there something I am allowed to want differently now?

An Affirmation for Venus Retrograde

I give myself permission to notice what is changing. I do not have to force clarity before it arrives. What I value may evolve as I do, and I can honor what once mattered without requiring it to define what comes next. I am worthy of receiving, creating, enjoying, and choosing a life that reflects who I am becoming.

You Don't Have to Know Yet

Venus retrograde gives us an opportunity to notice the quieter shifts happening within us.

The things that once felt fulfilling may feel different. Our relationship with money, creativity, pleasure, beauty, or the people around us may evolve. Even the way we define a meaningful or successful life can change as we do.

And sometimes the most important realization isn't that something is wrong.

It's simply that something has changed.

There can be a strange pressure to turn every realization into an immediate decision. If we recognize that we've outgrown something, we think we need to know what replaces it. If a desire changes, we want to understand why. If an old version of ourselves no longer fits, we want to know exactly who we're becoming.

But there is a space between recognizing change and knowing what to do with it.

Venus retrograde gives us permission to spend some time there.

You can appreciate something that once mattered deeply without needing it forever.

You can love something and still recognize that your relationship with it has changed.

You can reconsider what success looks like.

You can rediscover something you thought you had outgrown.

You can want more, want less, or want something completely different.

And you don't have to judge the person you were for wanting what you wanted before.

We're constantly gathering new experiences, learning more about ourselves, and discovering what makes life feel meaningful.

Our values are not contracts we sign with our past selves.

So maybe this Venus retrograde isn't asking you to have all the answers.

Maybe it's simply creating enough space for you to hear yourself when something inside you says:

This matters to me now.

And for the moment, that can be enough.
