September 2026 Fall Equinox & Libra Season: Release, Restore, Rebalance
Share
The Season Is Changing
There is something about this time of year that makes change feel a little more visible.
The air shifts. The light changes. The days begin to shorten, and nature slowly starts showing us what it looks like to let go without rushing the process.
September brings us to a threshold.
The Fall Equinox marks a moment of balance between light and dark before we begin moving deeper into the quieter half of the year. At the same time, Libra Season turns our attention toward balance in our own lives & our relationships, our boundaries, the energy we give away, and the places where we may need to come back to ourselves.
But balance doesn’t always mean keeping everything perfectly even.
Sometimes balance requires releasing what has become too heavy. Sometimes it means restoring the parts of ourselves we’ve neglected. And sometimes it means recognizing that what worked for us in one season isn’t meant to follow us into the next.
This month’s Vibe Journal is an invitation to notice what is shifting.
What are you ready to put down?
What deserves to be restored?
And where are you being asked to create more balance as you move forward?
You don’t have to have every answer before you cross the threshold. You only have to be willing to listen to what this season is showing you.
Release. Restore. Rebalance.
Let’s step into the new season.
The Fall Equinox: A Moment of Balance
The Fall Equinox arrives on September 22, marking one of two points in the year when day and night are nearly equal in length.
It is a natural turning point, a pause between seasons and a reminder that balance is not something we achieve once and hold onto forever. It is something we continually return to.
From here, the nights begin growing longer. The world around us starts pulling inward. Leaves change color and eventually fall. Plants begin conserving their energy. Nature doesn’t fight the transition or cling to what has already completed its cycle.
It releases.
There is something powerful in allowing ourselves to do the same.
The Equinox gives us an opportunity to look at what we have been carrying and ask whether all of it still belongs with us. Not everything needs to be dramatically cut away. Some things simply need to be acknowledged, thanked for what they taught us, and allowed to end.
This is also a season of harvest.
Before focusing only on what needs to go, take a moment to recognize what has grown.
What have you created since the beginning of the year?
What have you learned about yourself?
What have you survived, strengthened, changed, or finally understood?
Your harvest may not look exactly like what you imagined when the year began. That doesn’t mean there is nothing worth honoring.
The Fall Equinox reminds us that release and gratitude can exist at the same time.
We can appreciate what a season gave us without needing to remain there.
We can honor who we have been while still making room for who we are becoming.
And as the balance of light and darkness begins to shift, we are invited to find our own center before stepping into what comes next.
Libra Season: Coming Back Into Balance
Libra Season begins on September 22, bringing our attention toward balance, relationships, harmony, beauty, fairness, and the ways we connect with one another.
Ruled by Venus, Libra is often associated with love and partnership, but Libra Season isn’t only about romantic relationships.
It can illuminate every place where we are exchanging energy.
Who are you pouring into?
Who pours back into you?
Where are you compromising because it creates genuine harmony, and where are you compromising so much that you are abandoning yourself in the process?
Libra teaches us that healthy relationships require both connection and individuality.
There is a difference between keeping the peace and actually experiencing peace.
Sometimes we avoid difficult conversations because we don’t want to disrupt the balance. We say yes when we mean no. We make ourselves smaller. We overextend. We convince ourselves that maintaining harmony is more important than expressing what we actually need.
But true balance cannot be built on self-abandonment.
This season asks us to look honestly at the scales.
Where has something become uneven?
Where are you giving more than you are receiving?
Where could you soften, listen, or make more room for another perspective?
And where is it finally time to advocate for yourself?
Libra Season reminds us that balance isn’t about making everyone happy. It is about creating relationships, boundaries, and environments where everyone involved including you has room to exist authentically.
As we move through this season, pay attention to what feels reciprocal, what feels draining, and what brings you back to your center.
The goal isn’t perfection.
It’s alignment.

This Libra Season isn’t happening in isolation.
2026 has carried a noticeable shift in the collective astrology, with several of the slower-moving planets now occupying new territory. Pluto is moving through Aquarius, Saturn and Neptune are in Aries, Uranus is in Gemini, and Jupiter is traveling through Leo.
Together, these transits create a backdrop of change that reaches far beyond the usual themes of Libra Season.
Pluto in Aquarius continues its long transformation of the way we think about community, power, technology, belonging, and the systems we participate in.
Uranus in Gemini brings disruption and innovation to communication, information, learning, and the way ideas move through the world. Old ways of thinking can change quickly when we become willing to question what we assumed was fixed.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries create an especially interesting combination.
Neptune asks us to imagine.
Saturn asks us to build.
And Aries asks us to begin.
Dreams, identities, and desires that once existed only as possibilities may now require action, responsibility, and courage. We are being asked to recognize the difference between imagining a new life and actually participating in the creation of one.
Meanwhile, Jupiter in Leo encourages expansion through creativity, confidence, visibility, joy, and authentic self-expression.
Against all of this movement, Libra Season asks an important question:
How do we create balance while so much is changing?
Maybe the answer isn’t to resist change until everything feels stable again.
Maybe balance comes from learning how to stay connected to ourselves while life continues moving around us.
This season can help us notice where our relationships, commitments, boundaries, and priorities need to evolve alongside the person we are becoming.
You are allowed to renegotiate what balance looks like.
You are allowed to outgrow an old agreement.
You are allowed to choose differently when you know differently.
The scales are not asking you to remain still.
They are asking you to keep adjusting until you find your center again.
Libra Season Through the Rising Signs
Your Rising Sign determines which area of your birth chart Libra rules, giving us a closer look at where the themes of balance, relationships, boundaries, and recalibration may be showing up for you this season.
Read for your Rising Sign first. You can also read your Sun and Moon signs if you’d like additional layers of insight.
ARIES RISING — 7TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 7th house of relationships, partnerships, commitments, and one-on-one connections.
This season puts the mirror of relationship directly in front of you.
Pay attention to the dynamics between you and the people closest to you. Where is there mutual effort, respect, and reciprocity? Where have you been overcompromising, avoiding necessary conversations, or expecting someone else to meet a need you haven’t clearly expressed?
This doesn’t automatically mean ending relationships that feel imperfect. It may simply be time to rebalance them.
The lesson: Connection should not require you to disappear.
TAURUS RISING — 6TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 6th house of daily routines, work, habits, responsibilities, and wellness.
Your everyday life is asking for attention.
Look at the systems holding your life together behind the scenes. Are your routines actually supporting you, or have they become another source of pressure? Where could you create more breathing room, structure, or intentional rest?
Small adjustments can create significant change when they are repeated consistently.
The lesson: Balance is built through the choices you make every day.
GEMINI RISING — 5TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 5th house of creativity, pleasure, romance, self-expression, and joy.
This season asks you to reconnect with what makes you feel alive.
Not everything you do needs to be productive, profitable, or useful. Creativity can exist simply because you enjoy it. Pleasure can be meaningful. Play can restore parts of you that responsibility cannot reach.
Notice where you have been postponing joy until everything else is finished.
The lesson: You are allowed to make room for what lights you up.
CANCER RISING — 4TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 4th house of home, family, roots, emotional security, and your inner world.
Your attention turns inward.
You may become more aware of what creates genuine safety and peace for you physically, emotionally, and energetically. This can bring focus to your home environment, family dynamics, old patterns, or the private version of yourself that exists when no one else is watching.
Consider what needs to shift so that your inner world feels more supportive of the life you are trying to create.
The lesson: Peace begins with what you allow yourself to come home to.
LEO RISING — 3RD HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 3rd house of communication, learning, ideas, siblings, your immediate environment, and the way you express yourself.
This season brings attention to your voice.
Notice not only what you are saying, but what you have been holding back. Are you communicating clearly, or expecting people to understand what you mean without actually saying it? Are you listening with the same intention that you want others to listen to you?
There may also be an opportunity to rethink an old perspective, learn something new, or have a conversation that creates greater understanding.
The lesson: Your words can create connection when they come from a place of clarity.
VIRGO RISING — 2ND HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 2nd house of money, possessions, values, resources, and self-worth.
This season asks you to look at what you value and whether your choices reflect it.
Financial balance may become part of the conversation, but this house goes deeper than money. It also speaks to the value you place on your own time, energy, talents, and contributions.
Pay attention to where you may be undervaluing yourself or investing your resources into things that no longer feel aligned.
The lesson: What you value deserves to be reflected in how you live.
LIBRA RISING — 1ST HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 1st house of identity, self-expression, appearance, personal direction, and new beginnings.
This is your season
The focus returns to you who you are now, how you want to move through the world, and what version of yourself you are ready to embody next.
You may feel called to change something about the way you present yourself, redefine a personal goal, or simply become more intentional about choosing yourself after spending too much time considering everyone else.
You do not need permission to evolve beyond an identity that no longer fits.
The lesson: Balance includes making yourself part of the equation.
SCORPIO RISING — 12TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 12th house of rest, closure, healing, solitude, subconscious patterns, and what exists beneath the surface.
This is a quieter season for you.
Before the Sun enters Scorpio and begins your personal new year cycle, Libra Season creates space to clear what you do not want to carry forward.
Old emotions, memories, habits, or patterns may surface not necessarily because you are meant to return to them, but because you may finally be ready to understand or release them differently.
Give yourself permission to rest, retreat when needed, and listen to what becomes clearer in the quiet.
The lesson: Some endings happen internally before anyone else can see them.
SAGITTARIUS RISING — 11TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 11th house of friendships, community, networks, future goals, and the bigger vision you hold for your life.
This season asks you to look at who and what you are surrounding yourself with as you move toward your future.
Some connections may feel more aligned than ever, while others may reveal that you have grown in different directions. You may also find yourself reconsidering a long-term dream or becoming clearer about the kind of community you want to build around you.
You do not have to maintain every connection simply because it has history.
The lesson: Your future deserves relationships that have room for who you are becoming.
CAPRICORN RISING — 10TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 10th house of career, reputation, visibility, ambition, and long-term direction.
Your public life and larger goals come into focus.
You may be considering where your energy is going professionally, what success actually means to you now, or whether the path you have been pursuing still reflects the life you want to create.
This is also a reminder that achievement and balance do not have to be opposites. Ambition can coexist with boundaries. Success does not have to require sacrificing every other part of yourself.
The lesson: Build a version of success you can actually live inside.
AQUARIUS RISING — 9TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 9th house of beliefs, higher learning, travel, spirituality, perspective, and expansion.
Your worldview may be stretching.
You could feel drawn toward a new subject, spiritual practice, experience, place, or perspective that challenges the way you have previously understood something.
Growth sometimes requires being willing to admit that there is more to learn.
You do not have to abandon everything you believe in order to remain curious. You simply need enough openness to let new information expand your perspective.
The lesson: Your beliefs should have enough room to grow with you.
PISCES RISING — 8TH HOUSE
Libra Season moves through your 8th house of intimacy, shared resources, vulnerability, transformation, debt, energetic exchange, and deeper emotional bonds.
This season asks you to look beneath the surface of what you share with other people.
That may include money, responsibilities, emotional labor, trust, intimacy, or the invisible ways energy is exchanged within close relationships.
Where are things genuinely reciprocal? Where have boundaries become blurred? What are you carrying that was never entirely yours to begin with?
This can be a powerful season for untangling, releasing, and creating healthier agreements around what is shared.
The lesson: Intimacy becomes safer when boundaries and reciprocity are allowed to exist within it.
Crystals for Fall Equinox & Libra Season
As we move through a season centered around release, restoration, relationships, and balance, crystals can become physical reminders of the intentions we are choosing to carry with us.
You do not need a massive collection or the “perfect” stone. Pay attention to what you naturally feel drawn toward. Sometimes the crystal that catches your attention is the one whose symbolism resonates most with what you are currently working through.
For this season, you may feel drawn to:
ROSE QUARTZ — Love, compassion, emotional softness, and harmony. A beautiful stone to work with when exploring your relationship with yourself and the way you give and receive love.
BLACK TOURMALINE — Grounding, protection, and energetic boundaries. Helpful when you are becoming more intentional about what energy belongs to you and what does not.
LABRADORITE — Transformation, intuition, and navigating periods of change. A supportive companion when you are standing between an old chapter and whatever comes next.
MOONSTONE — Cycles, intuition, emotional awareness, and new beginnings. A reminder that change happens in phases and you do not need to rush your way through every transition.
AMETHYST — Calm, clarity, spiritual connection, and reflection. A beautiful stone for creating quiet space to listen inward.
PAULINNA’S PICKS
Each Vibe Journal, I choose a couple of crystals that feel especially aligned with the energy we are moving through.
This month, I kept coming back to Nuummite and Chrysocolla.
NUUMMITE
Nuummite carries a deep, grounding energy that feels incredibly fitting for a season of release and transition.
It is often associated with inner strength, protection, shadow work, personal power, and exploring what exists beneath the surface.
Fall naturally invites us inward. As the external world begins releasing and slowing down, we may become more aware of the things within ourselves that are ready to be acknowledged.
Nuummite reminds us that transformation does not always need to be loud or visible.
Some of the most important shifts happen privately.
CHRYSOCOLLA
Chrysocolla brings a softer energy into the conversation.
Often associated with communication, emotional expression, inner wisdom, peace, and speaking from the heart, it pairs beautifully with Libra Season’s focus on relationships and balance.
Healthy communication is not simply about saying what other people want to hear.
It is learning how to express yourself with honesty while still leaving room for compassion, listening, and understanding.
Chrysocolla can serve as a reminder that your voice does not have to become harsh in order to be powerful.
Together, Nuummite and Chrysocolla create an interesting balance:
One asks us to go inward.
The other asks us to express what we discover there.
One strengthens the relationship with ourselves.
The other helps us bring that awareness into our relationships with others.
And that feels very much like the work of this season.
Journal Prompts: Release, Restore, Rebalance
You do not need to work through every question at once.
Choose the prompt that pulls at you. Sit with it without trying to create the right answer. Sometimes the first thing that comes up is only the surface give yourself enough space to see what exists underneath it.
RELEASE
• What am I carrying simply because I have carried it for a long time?
• What relationship, habit, expectation, belief, or version of myself feels like it belongs to a season I have already outgrown?
• Where am I holding on because letting go would require me to accept that something has changed?
• What would become possible if I stopped trying to force something that no longer feels aligned?
RESTORE
• What part of myself has been asking for more attention lately?
• What used to make me feel grounded, creative, connected, or alive that I have slowly stopped making time for?
• Where does my energy genuinely need replenishment?
• What is one small thing I could bring back into my life that would help me feel more like myself again?
REBALANCE
• Where in my life am I consistently giving more than I am receiving?
• Where might someone else be giving more than I have recognized?
• What boundary, conversation, or adjustment could create more balance in one of my relationships?
• Am I making decisions based on what actually feels right for me, or primarily around keeping other people comfortable?
• What does balance look like for the version of me I am becoming, not the version of me I used to be?
You may notice that some of your answers overlap.
Something you release may create the space needed to restore something else.
Something you restore may show you where your life has become unbalanced.
And rebalancing may require another release.
You do not have to separate the process perfectly.
Let the answers lead you where they need to.
Release & Receive: A Fall Equinox Ritual
The Fall Equinox is a beautiful time to intentionally acknowledge what you are ready to release while also making space for what you want to carry into the season ahead.
This ritual does not need to be elaborate. Use what you already have, make it your own, and focus more on the intention behind what you are doing than on performing every step perfectly.
YOU WILL NEED:
• Two small pieces of paper
• A pen
• A candle
• A fire-safe bowl or container if you choose to burn your release paper
• A crystal that feels aligned with your intention, if you would like to include one
STEP ONE: CREATE YOUR SPACE
Find somewhere you can have a few quiet moments to yourself.
Light your candle and take a moment to settle in. Hold your crystal if you are using one. Take a few slow breaths and allow yourself to become present with where you are right now.
You are standing between seasons.
Give yourself permission to acknowledge that.
STEP TWO: RELEASE
On your first piece of paper, write down what you are ready to leave behind.
This could be a habit, fear, expectation, attachment, belief, resentment, relationship dynamic, or anything else that feels complete or too heavy to continue carrying.
You do not need to explain or justify it.
When you are finished, read what you wrote and acknowledge what it represented in your life.
Then choose a way to physically release the paper.
You can safely burn it in a fire safe container, tear it into small pieces, or simply throw it away.
As you do, say:
I honor what this has taught me, and I give myself permission to release what I no longer need to carry.
STEP THREE: RECEIVE
Take your second piece of paper.
Instead of writing a list of everything you want to happen, focus on what you want to make room for.
Maybe you are inviting in peace.
Reciprocal relationships.
Creativity.
Confidence.
Rest.
Clarity.
Joy.
A stronger relationship with yourself.
Write whatever feels meaningful to you.
Then say:
I make space for what supports the person I am becoming. I welcome what is aligned, reciprocal, and meant to grow with me.
STEP FOUR: KEEP WHAT YOU ARE CALLING IN
Keep your Receive paper somewhere you will encounter it again.
Place it on your altar, tuck it into your journal, keep it beside your bed, or fold it beneath a crystal.
Let it become a reminder that releasing is not only about creating emptiness.
It is about creating space.
You do not need to know exactly what will fill that space yet.
For now, trust yourself enough to stop filling it with what you already know you have outgrown.
Crossing the Threshold
There is a quiet kind of courage in allowing yourself to change.
Not every transformation arrives with a dramatic ending or an obvious new beginning.
Sometimes it looks like noticing that something doesn’t fit anymore.
Choosing a different response.
Setting a boundary, you used to be afraid to set.
Returning to something that makes you feel like yourself.
Letting a version of you rest because you no longer need them to survive the same things.
The Fall Equinox reminds us that nature does not hold onto every leaf simply because it once helped the tree grow.
There is a time for becoming.
There is a time for blooming.
There is a time for harvesting.
And there is a time for letting go.
Libra Season asks us to find our balance within that cycle not by keeping everything perfectly still, but by learning when to hold, when to adjust, and when to release.
As you move into this next season, you do not need to reinvent your entire life.
Start with what you know.
Honor what has grown.
Restore what has been neglected.
Release what has completed its season.
And keep making small adjustments toward a life that feels more like your own.
The threshold is already beneath your feet.
Release.
Restore.
Rebalance.
And step forward
